Everything about the dinner party felt perfect. From the beautiful tablescape to the food, everything worked together so nicely and I was impressed with how light and simple the food was, but that every bite was packed with flavor. I couldn't stop going back for more!
The evening spent with friends was a whole VIBE! From the gorgeous themed tablescape to the decadent entree, I was seriously impressed. I absolutely cannot wait to make these recipes for my family and friends because I know they will be a hit!
FAQs
People who love to cook good food, dote on their loved ones, and share some laughs around a table.
But, here’s the thing. You don’t need to be an expert. Heck, maybe you’ve never hosted a dinner party! And that’s OK. Even if you’ve never done this before, I promise I’ll give you everything you need to nail the party.
I’m writing for home cooks of all skill levels. The posts and recipes are conversational and will make you feel like your BFF is standing in the kitchen with you talking you through every step.
I’m dubbing 2025 the Year of Gathering. I hope you’ll join me at the table.
You will receive a welcome email immediately after sign up with more information. Otherwise, simply log in to your Substack account, navigate to The Plum Social and browse recipes and other supporting articles. Note that the first recipe drops on January 6, 2025 so it will take a bit of time to populate the library.
Great question! While you can find millions of recipes online for free (including on my main website), these recipes tend to be more exciting than what you'd typically find from a general Google search, all go together in a purposeful way, and are completely ad-free.
Additionally, with the rise of AI-generated recipe content (most of which do not work), you can rest easy knowing that all of these recipes have been thoughtfully developed and tested by a real human being.
The concept of The Plum Social takes all of the guesswork out of planning a dinner party, giving you an elevated yet attainable menu and party prep timeline so you can use minimal brain power and put all of the focus on connecting with your guests.
Finally, if you love to support small businesses and the creative arts, this affordable membership fee goes a long way to help me continue creating ultra-delicious content for you!
The recipes for The Social, stay in The Social. The whole reason for The Plum Social is to give you unique, exclusive, ad-free content that you won't get on the free side of my site (thecozyplum.com). The weekly recipes will be sent to your email inbox via newsletter, but are also available on The Plum Social Substack.
Some of them! The recipes have been tested as written, but each recipe will have a section with approved substitutions or variations to empower you to make the dishes to meet dietary needs. That being said, if it’s a dairy heavy recipe, it’s probably not a good idea to go swapping out all of the dairy for other ingredients or else I can’t guarantee a good outcome.
Questions related to the recipe should be asked via the “Comments” section at the very bottom of each post. You can also directly reply the the email with any questions or use the "chat section" of the Substack site. I will do my best to get them answered as soon as I can!
Almost all of the recipes in the social can be made with basic kitchen tools, though electric appliances like a hand mixer are often used in desserts, and a food processor can be a time saver (but not necessary).
If you’re in the market for some new kitchen equipment, check out my kitchen essentials storefront. These are the products that I either use or recommend for my own kitchen!
