Whisk together the sugar, salt, egg yolk and melted butter.

Whisk together the flour, baking powder and cinnamon, then pour it into the wet ingredients.

Use a rubber spatula to mix together the batter until thick and smooth.

Press the spice cake into the bottom of the pan.

In the bowl of a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer), beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar, then add the remaining ingredients.

Pour the pumpkin batter over the cake batter, then bake until set. Cool at room temperature, then transfer to the fridge to finish cooling.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving and cutting.
