Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie

Whisk together the sugar, corn starch, and salt.

Add the eggs and melted butter.

Whisk vigorously until smooth.

Pour in the maple syrup.

Pour in the bourbon (if using).

Whisk again to completely combine.

Add the pecan halves to the par-baked pie crust.

Pour the filling on top, scraping out every last bit, then bake.

Cool for at least 2 hours, then serve with vanilla ice cream.
